A Family of Cyclists

My father was a cyclist, he has a few records of long distance in bicycle touring in Chile, also he won a few championships racing in velodrome, he and my Mother Vicenta (also a cyclist) managed to built the first velodrome in Talca in 1920 in my Grandfather's farm (with their fellow's cyclist help),also my brothers: Julian, Guillermo, Jose, Adolfo and Rafael also raced in Velodromes, some more successful than others, well of course I was a cyclist too,my first race when I was only 6 years old,in Concepcion, I was 3rd.Champion of Chile(I cried because I did not win), the pressure was so high that been third was not enough, then next year I became a Chilean champion, and the following years also in different categories(in Velodromes around the country),at school when I was 17 we had an Olympiad and we won all categories and the Olympic Trophy for our school"La Salle".
The tradition goes on Guillermo and his son also a cyclists in Sweden, Claudio won a few championships in Chile, Pato's son a good cyclist, Hernan Jr. my son world champion in downhill, probably I missed a few in my family(but soon I will be reminded), now you know why the family members love bicycles SO much, we have a few of them in the Bicycle Business: Julian owns "OXFORD BICYCLES" in Chile, Rafael has a successful "Bicycle Parts Importing Company", Guillermo Burgos Jr. owns "Importadora Burgos Valera" and I "Bicycles At St.Clair" in Toronto Canada.
No wonder that when we get together the only thing you hear is BICYCLES.
Incredible but true.
Best regards,
Hernan P.Burgos
